DAY 13 & 14: Sunday was clean up day after "the party". The aftermath was a workout in itself but the kids and I figured we'd pass the time away while mom slept after her brutal graveyard shift. 2 sets of crunches at 45 and 30 reps, followed by 2 sets of light dumbell curls 30 lbs @ 30 reps followed by 30 and 35 pushups. Why the pushups? You see, I need to be able to perform 75 pushups x 3 in order to complete my conditional black belt next year. I might as well start now! Stretching using the ball was a chore as the girls were adamant that they use the ball to do their crunches. 2 sets each...i was impressed!Day 14 was exciting because I finally got a heart rate monitor! Patrick from Fitness Town in Burnaby was kind enough to spend the time explaining the benefits of target heart rates so I kicked off the workout with a 25 minute treadmill at my target rate followed by a 5 minute cooldown. From there it was back to crunches but this time it was myself flat on the ground and my legs on the ball (3 sets) mixed in with 3 sets of chest presses using the adjustable dumbbells.
